How to set up a Vacation Responder (Out of Office reply) in Gmail

  1. On your computer, open Gmail and log in with your district account if you haven't already.
  2. In the top right, click Settings   Settings.
  3. Scroll down to the "Vacation responder" section.
  4. Select Vacation responder on.
  5. Fill in the date range, subject, and message.
  6. Under your message, check the 'Only send a response to people in Forest Grove SD' box if you only want people on our domain to see your vacation reply (this is recommended, otherwise every email will be sent a vacation response, which potentially includes spammers (that can use the information in your signature to target you in the future)).
  7. At the bottom of the page, click Save Changes.

Note: If you have a Gmail signature, it will be shown at the bottom of your vacation response.
