Microphone adjustment on Chromebook for ZOOM Meetings*

If you have checked Audio settings on the Chromebook and it all looks normal, your next step to make sure the microphone volume is at an acceptable level for users/participants.

Please Open the ZOOM application on the Chromebook, then click SETTINGS:

*Click the GEAR icon in the upper RIGHT HAND CORNER

NEXT, you will want to look for the AUDIO TAB in the SETTINGS WINDOW

*Once you see this, CLICK ON AUDIO

*Make sure you've CHECKED "Auto Adjust Microphone Volume"

Finally, you can test the setting out in a Zoom Meeting.

***If you still notice problems/no change, please Sign Out of the Chromebook and Shut Down the device.  Power up the Chromebook again, and login and test.

***If the problem persists, I have found that "Remove User" from the Chromebook splash screen and then "Add Person" and logging in can also help to clear up any issues that may have been connected to the chromebook/student profile.

This way we have checked settings within ZOOM and also attempted to clear up issues with the chromebook.

Thank you.  Please let us know if you have found other solutions we may add to this KB Article.
