Google 2-Step Verification
Your account has been placed in a group to allow you to get to the setup page for Two-Step Verification for Google. Here are the steps:
# Method 1 - FGSD Helpful Links#
- Open the Chrome Browser
- Click on the "FGSD Bookmarks" button in the upper left of the Chrome window and select "Helpful Links"
- Scroll to the bottom and select the red "Two Step Verification" button
- Select/Login with your district email account and follow the prompts to turn on 2-step verification
- You do not need to enter the "G -" part of the code, just the numbers.
- Once 2-step verification is enabled ("turn on"), then reply to this email to let us know it is complete.
# Method 2 - MyAccount.Google.Com #
- If you do not have the FGSD Bookmarks or Helpful Links option, then just type the following web site address in the address bar at the top of the browser window: myaccount.google.com
- Once at that web page, login with your FGSD email account and then select "Security" on the left.
- Select "2-Step Verification" in the middle of the page and follow the prompts to setup 2-step verification and turn it on.
- Once 2-step verification is enabled ("turn on"), then reply to this email to let us know it is complete.
Here is a Google article further explaining 2-step verification and how to turn it on, and the options.
Here is a Google article explaining how to trust a device to not get prompted for the 2-step verification every time you log in.
If you have any difficulty turning 2-step verification on, please call the FGSD Help Desk (x4529 from an FGSD phone, or 503-359-2415 from outside the district).
Thank you.
