How to Reset Your FGSD Login Password

Note: Only do steps outlined for a single type of system. If you use multiple devices (ex: Macbook and Windows systems, or any combination of systems) please consult with the FGSD tech department.

Macbook users:
While you're in the office (must be connected to the FGSD network via WiFi or wire):
  • Log in to your system
  • Open System Preferences

  • Click on Users & Groups

  • Highlight your account on the left column and click Change Password in the main pane

  • Enter the information requested (note: new passwords must be 8 characters long and must include at least 3 of the 4 following: Uppercase letters, Lowercase letters, numbers and/or symbols).

  • Click on Change Password, the window will close and take you back to the Users & Groups window which you can now close as well.
  • The next time you log in (or shortly after staying logged in), the WiFi will fail with previously saved credentials, prompting you to enter your current password. Please enter your new password in the window. After about 1 minute, the system will come up with the Certificate window (that you’ll need to ‘Allow’, and then enter your new password once prompted again to save changes to your keychain).
  • Please note: You’ll have to change any passwords saved on other devices or programs (smartphones/tablets, outlook, etc.)

  • Windows users:
While you're in the office (must be connected to the FGSD network via wire or docking station that is wired to our network):
  • Log into your system (if you’re already logged in, skip to next step)
  • Regardless of what applications are open, press CTRL-ALT-DEL (just like when you first log in) and you’ll see this screen:

  • Choose Change a Password from the menu
  • Enter the information requested (note: new passwords must be 8 characters long and must include at least 3 of the 4 following: Uppercase letters, Lowercase letters, numbers and/or symbols). Click the blue arrow to finish setting your new password.

  • Reboot your system and log in with your new password.
  • Please note: You’ll have to change any passwords saved on other devices or programs (smartphones/tablets, outlook, etc.)

  • Chromebook users (do not use this method if you regularly log into PCs or Macbooks):
