Encrypting Files before transfer*
Who :: Business Office, Human Resources and anyone else sending personally identifiable information
What :: Encrypt files with a password and then follow up with a password
Password protect any stored files containing personally identifiable information
Why ::Protecting identities and other sensitive information is the right thing to do for our staff, students, and families
Where and When :: In email and while storing files containing sensitive information
How:

Open the PDF
Tools > Protect > Encrypt > Encrypt with Password.
If you receive a prompt, click Yes to change the security.Select Require A Password To Open The Document
**If you forget what it is, you'll lose access to that document**

Open the Excel document
File > Info > Protect Workbook
Type in a password

From the File menu, click Save As
Click Tools and select General Options
Enter password(s) to open and/or edit
