Manually Download/Install Google Chrome*
Hello, here are steps for manually downloading and installing Google Chrome Browser for you Macbook AIR if your browser is too far behind in updates.
*This is necessary IF you receive the message "Google Chrome may not be able to keep itself updated"
***PLEASE SAVE YOUR BOOKMARKS in case your tabs DO NOT RE-LAUNCH/RE-OPEN after the google chrome browser install/update***
1. Go to http://www.google.com/chrome
2. Click on (DOWNLOAD CHROME)
3. Next Click on (ACCEPT & INSTALL)
4. Now Click on (OPEN)
5. This is the progress box you will see next.
6. This one follows... Please DRAG the Google Chrome icon INTO the blue "A" folder
7. After you drag the Chrome logo above the blue folder, this appears:
(Please click on REPLACE)
7a. Now you may receive a message "Google Chrome can't continue because it is in USE" Please close any Chrome browser windows you may have had open to continue the replace/install.
8. Once your Macbook is done verifying the install... Please Click on OPEN.
8a. You may be asked for your credentials/password to install/replace the previous version
*There is a possibility that you will want to sign-in/out after the install just to make sure the browser has completely updated and has synced with your account.
Thank you for taking the time to follow these steps. As of 3/11/19 we should be on ver. 72 of Google Chrome Browser.
